Babies First Christmas: What to Gift Your 0-6 month old

There is something about having kids that makes the holidays so much more magical. Watching the season unfold through their eyes is so special. And there is nothing like Babies First Christmas! From a mom of 4, I want to help you this season with some great toys for your little one! So if you are going to go crazy, you know it will be worth it!

Small Security Blanket: This sweet little Dino Lovey is from Target, they have a Pink one as well and I couldn’t resist getting a special lovey for my little one. A special security item just for them during nap times, or transitions times to a care giver will be cherished for a long time!

Manhattan Toy Winkel Rattle & Sensory Teether Toy: This awesome rattle/ teether has been a favorite of 3 of my babies! My twins when they were babies and now my 5 month old. Its light weight, rattles, easy to grip, and learn to grip with both hands, and is definitely a favorite for those early chew sessions!

Fisher-Price Pizza Slice Teether: a quirky teether! This age is all about everything in the mouth and those sensory sounds and feelings. This sweet little teether is crinkly to engage those senses, get them grasping, and the silicone crust feels extra nice on sensitive gums! Find this one at Amazon or at Target!

Lamaze Peek-A-Boo Forest: This soft cloth interactive book has fun Peek-a-boo flaps, a babies favorite game to play at this age! They will enjoy story time with a playful twist with you, as well as a little self guided play chewing and exploring the crinkly sounds and flaps with cute engaging animals inside!

Sassy Tummy Time Floor Mirror: As I said before as a mom of 4 babes, I definitely have found my favorites! A floor mirror is essential for tummy time! Helping with everything from muscle control to language development. This is the perfect size, has a Velcro tab on the bottom that helps it stick to the carpet and the Lady Bug and Bumble Bee are eye catching to your baby and fun to play with!

Skip Hop Explore and More Baby’s View 3-Stage Interactive Activity Center: an activity center for your baby is a must and this is such an awesome one for every stage! Baby can bounce, turn, swivel and play. And when baby outgrows the center it can be turned into a table for standing and playing. Bonus * dishwasher friendly parts.

Land of B. 3pk Bath Squirts: These bath squirters are a moms dream! They fully come apart to clean! In the past we have gone through so many bath squirters because they are hard to clean and eventually grow mold inside. Gross! But they are such a favorite play thing for babes in their baths. These are a Target Find! There are 2 packs, and 6 characters to choose from.

Land of B. Bath Book: A cute little bath book for baby to chew, and flip through as they begin to sit up in the bath. Or just an easy cleanable book for baby to start to learn that early color recognition.

Skip Hop Baby Farmstand Rock-A-Mole Guitar: Your little one will enjoy using this while on their tummy and as they grow into a sitting position with it. Play musical sounds and spin that cute little avocado belly!

Hello, Garden Bugs- A High-Contrast Book: This is one in a series of High Contrast books for new eyes! Newborns cant fully distinguish colors yet, so they really enjoy the high contrast black and white shapes and patterns as they develop their eyesight!

The Story of Rap: Is a cute board book for any music lovers out there. I couldn’t resist. You will also find The Story of Rock, and The Story of Country depending on you musical preferences.

Fat Brain Toys Wimzle: Fat Brain Toy company is one of my favorite toy companies for the early years. This fun little “wimzle” will help your baby discover embossed geometric patterns, explore twisting silicone rings, play with balance and rotation, and learn through cause and effect exploration.

Indestructibles- Baby Faces: This is one in a series of books from Indestructibles this just happens to be a favorite to help baby recognize all those emotions they start to see in their world! They are chew proof, rip proof, non toxic and 100% washable! Im talking I have thrown mine in the dishwasher and washing machine and they are still in great shape! Bonus most of them are under $5!

Fat Brain Toys Dimpl: Do you remember loving pushing soda top buttons in when you were little? I was obsessed every time I got a drink top with that kind of lid. This is the awesome baby version that will last them well past their first birthday. This will help baby engage their senses, encourages fine motor skills, sensory exploration, and cause-and-effect learning!

Fat Brain Toys Rollobie Baby Toy: Another Fat Brain Toy Favorite! It is perfect for Sensory Building as Rollobie glides, rolls, and rattles. Your baby can interact and turn Rollobies horns to change the eyes from awake to sleeping, and is great for encouraging fine motor skills, and imaginative play. Another favorite past their first birthday!

Last but not least, I plan on putting together a basket for baby to sort through under the tree while big brothers open their gifts. I have done the wrap route as well but I haven’t ever had a baby quit as young for the holidays so I am excited to try this and see how it goes!

Welcome to the world of “Santas Helper” and I am so happy for you to be enjoying your First Christmas with your little one. It is truly magical.

Happy Shopping and Merry Christmas to you and yours!
